Hi, recently the backWPup plugin started to make trouble. During one particular FULL backup, the error warning is "FEHLER: System: (13) Permission denied". This causes a timeout, even though I have modified my execution time limit up to 600sec. My other daily database backup is okay.
Furthermore I double-checked the user rights of all backup-folders and all are at 755.
I de-installed the plugin and trashed the backup folders on the server. After that I installed wpBackup again. Still same result "Error: System: (13) Permission denied".
All backups (database and full backups) from my other websites are running good. All running on WordPress 4.4 and the Artbees JUPITER theme.
Any help is very much appreciated!
Many thnx in advance!
Neal
You have a very efficient plugin and the task based backup system brings a very huge among of flexibility.
I'm a fan of your plugin like many others wordpress user but I can not use it on a production site because backwpup doesn't provide strong encryption for backup archives witch can include the complete wordpress installation, strategic files, etc.. nor strong encryption for the database.
I can't leave an unencrypted backup on my servers as well as on a backup server or a storage service. Event if storage services are providing encryption for uploaded files, they are practically all US based under Patriot Act and other liberticide laws.I just wanna protect our privacy especially as we are not US citizens.
It hurts because backwpup has the best user interface, it's very flexible and I never find another wordpress backup plugin with that level of quality.
Are you planing to introduce strong encryption capabilities in backwpup ?
Cheers
Hello,
After a recent upgrade to WP 4.4, I'm no longer able to backup my site. I have a database backup job that has been great since day 1, now I'm getting the following error messages. Any help you can provide is appreciated. I can't seem to find anything that points me in the right direction.

Hi, I have the backwpup plugin that is supposed to use wp-cron.php to automate backups. The backup can also be initiated with a command line. I disabled the CRON in WordPress and tried to run this backup through the linux command prompt and this is the error I get:
root@website-1 /dev # wget http://domain.com/wp-cron.php?_nonce=3a16d580&backwpup_run=runext&jobid=1

(the domain and IPs have been masked out)
I tried using another plugin and that also prompted me that there are approximately 350+ scheduled tasks that are not running. I can see the wp-cron.php file in the folder list but it does not run. Any ideas?
I cloned a site so I wonder if that might be the case as the original site has backed-up with no problem.
When I run back-up I get this error message.
home/originalsitedomainname/public_html/wp-content/uploads/backwpup-4bfb4a-logs.
* originalsitedomainname - it shows the name of the first site not the target site.
Thanks in advance
Hello all.
I just tried running my first BackWPup backup. I followed all instructions to the letter, yet still encountered an error:
Not expected HTTP response body: ***********
After the colon above, I see the entire plain-text and CSS of my site which eventually gets cut off. I was trying to export "DB Backup, Files, XML export, and Plugins" over "FTP."
Does anyone know what might cause this?
In the meantime, I exported my XML file using Wordpress's Export function, and also BackWPup's "one click backup" database just in case all else fails.
Thanks in advance,
wilton_
Hi,
I recently started to use WP Super Cache plugin instead of W3 Total Cache. I have noticed that after that every backup job stores 2 copies of the backup (do check the screenshot of it over here).
My setup:
I look forward to hear back from you.

Just move my server from 1 provider to another.
All went well, but when I try to reinstall Backwpup and try to run it, i got this kind of error :

Hi there,
I'm having a bit of an issue with Bulletproof Security + BackWPUp. It appears the issue may stem from the Bulletproof Security generated .htaccess file, because when I "Deactivate Root Folder BulletProof Mode (Default Mode)", the issue goes away and BackWPUp completes the job.
With Bulletproof mode active, I get this error when I try to run a BackWPUp job:
Missing or not expected HTTP response headers:
date: Wed, 17 Feb 2016 12:58:35 GMT
server: Apache
connection: close
content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1
I've tried disabling all plugins except for BackWPUp, with no success. So far, the only thing that seems to resolve the issue is "Deactivate Root Folder BulletProof Mode (Default Mode)" on the .htaccess file.
Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Hi there
I am new in wordpress but BackWPup seems to do just my job !!
(using wordpress 4.4.2 and BackWPup-Free 3.2.4)
I have created a job and at the bottom of it's General tab, I set a correct email address and unchecked the "Send email with log only when errors occur during job execution." box.
Running the job, everything is ok except there is no email sent to this address (I also checked spam and nothing)
I am missing something here? Is there something else that I should enable on wordpress like wp_mail or phpmailer ? Some configuration ?
regards
Hi there
using BackWPup free version 3.2.4
setting up a job to create plugin list file and xml file, BackWPup suggests filenames based on wordpress's title (in my case it's greek).
Then, the exported filename starts only after the contained dash "-"
filename: Δοκιμαστική-Σελίδα.pluginlist.%Y.%m.%d
exported: -Σελίδα.pluginlist.%Y.%m.%d
when I replace the first character with an english one it seems ok:
filename: Dοκιμαστική-Σελίδα.pluginlist.%Y.%m.%d
exported: Dοκιμαστική-Σελίδα.pluginlist.%Y.%m.%d
the same happens with XML Export file name.
I know this is minor and does not affect BackWPup's usage at all, but I feel I should report it.
regards
After updating to BackWPUp version 3.2.4, I get the following error message when I try to run a backup:
Missing or not expected HTTP response headers:
date: Tue, 16 Feb 2016 19:26:39 GMT
server: Apache
connection: close
content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1
Rolling back to BackWPUp version 3.2.3 removes the problem, and I am able to run backups normally.
My logs are showing the following warning when I run backups:
WARNING: mysqli::real_connect(): Headers and client library minor version mismatch. Headers:100020 Library:100106
I contacted my webhost about this a week ago. They were about to migrate my account to another server, and told me it would be resolved after the migration. It wasn't. Now they are telling me "this is not an error but a warning. It seems that the database has been backed up successfully and this does not affect the process. Please let us know if you need any further assistance from our end, we will gladly help!" Which means, presumably, that they don't consider it their problem.
Everything I've been able to find about this is highly technical, and seems to pertain to people who are running local versions of WordPress with their own server software, which does not apply to me.
I would like to know, first, what is this exactly? Headers of what? What library?
Secondly, are backups with this error - excuse me, warning - restorable?
Third, is it fixable?
Fourth, if it's fixable, is it something I should fix, or something my webhost should be fixing?
(Fifth, if I should fix it, how?)
That's all I need to know :)
So, I've Googled this, and tried a few things, including the User Role Editor plugin, which I can't quite figure out how to use. Tried a couple of things plugged into my functions.php, and nothing has really worked. I'm no longer using this plugin. Can I just remove it via the user_meta in the DB without breaking anything?
Hi,
The plugin is able to create archives and also able to establsih connection with ftp server. But, unable to upload file.
NOTE: This behaviour happens only when the job is running in background. If the user is logged in to the dashboard during the job running, the backup will happen without any issue.
Any advice on this please?

Hi,
Recently I have some issue with newest version of this plugin.
I'm using Wordpress version 4.4.2 and BackWPup version 3.2.5.
When I check the backup , the php files in wp-included , like 'admin-bar.php' (not in directory , ex : /wp-includes/pomo/ ) is not copied in backup. Is there any solution of this? 'cause it will make some trouble in the future.
Thanks
Seiaxen
After updating to BackWPup 3.2.5 it is not possible to execute backups via FTPS to a Synolgy NAS (latest software version).
I get this message:
WARNUNG: ftp_nb_fput(): Can't build data connection: Connection timed out.
[07-Mar-2016 17:16:00] FEHLER: Backup kann nicht zum FTP-Server übertragen werden!
Any hints?!
My backwpup is getting an error message since last few update, thankfully someone from this support page mentioned about adding :
define( 'ALTERNATE_WP_CRON', true )
;
on the wp-config.php and suddenly it back to works like a charm, but today I notice something's different. I saw there an extra line of my post url, it suddenly adds :
doing_wp_cron=xxxxxx
Is there any workaround to get the original url back?
Thanks
