The plugin seems to work nightly when backing up to an S3 service. However, on the Settings page, all of the tabs are blank. General, Jobs, Logs, etc have nothing so they cannot be modified.

Also, when a job is started manually both progress bars just go to 1% and stay there. If I check the S3 bucket later, it looks like the job completed but there’s no indication of that in the plugin.

This issue started in WP 4.5 and has persisted through to update 4.7. I’ve updated BackWPup and reinstalled/reconfigured the plugin and the same issues persist. Any suggestions?

This has been occuring for last three days.
Creates Archive.
Compresses to TarGz.
Checks database.
Does not upload to Dropbox.
Backup is in Uploads directory, as is Log file.

No Errors shown.
Success message after the backup in the ‘Logs’ screen, but no backup to Dropbox.
Log shows – “Log only 0 seconds”

Have re-authorized plugin to Dropbox.
Have run manually four times with same result.
Date/time correct, but runtime on ‘Jobs’ screen always reads “665 seconds”, yet actual runtime for manual backups I have just run varies – approx. 380 seconds to 1400 seconds.

Have viewed other posts describing same problem, yet mine is not “fixing itself”.
Have this plugin on two other sites (one on same server) and they are running fine and uploading to Dropbox.
Running WooCommerce on this site, but not others.

Suggestions?

Fifth attempt finally uploaded to Dropbox but, though actual Runtime was 1750 seconds and Date/time is correct, Runtime stated on ‘Jobs’ screen still reads “665 seconds”.

This plugin used to work for me until the 4.7 update happened. Now I can only back up database but not my entire website. Maximum script execution time is set to 0 secs.

Hi,

this plugin was working fine, last month it did do and send the backup to dropbox. Now, however, i tried to backup the site and the work starts normally, and then stops to ” Compressing files as ZipArchive. Please be patient, this may take a moment.” and then there is a message job done in 0 seconds. I dont see any backups. I have changed the time thing in settings-jobs to 30sec. Tried again and now it only reads that job started. Also tried to change the backup destination but it doesnt work either. I would like some help here, thank you!

I ran a full backup of a website and got the following error message for many different files:

WARNING: File name “wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Washington-Post-The-world’s-leading-development-economists-can’t-agree-on-how-to-tackle-inequality.pdf” is too long to be saved correctly in TarBz2 archive!

How do I resolve this issue? Any feedback would be much appreciated!

I am trying to run my WordPress MU (domainMapping) with BackWPUp and MainWP
Here is my scenario:

I have a WordPress MU (Domain-A = my main domain)
I have a classic WordPress (Domain-B) with MainWP-Server

My MU (Domain-A) network contains of several sub-blogs:
– Domain-A / Sub-blog-1 (=> mapped-domain-a.com)
– Domain-A / Sub-blog-2 (=> mapped-domain-b.com)
– Domain-A / Sub-blog-3 (=> mapped-domain-c.com)
Etc …

I installed BackWPUp (activation on the network)
I have installed MainWP-child <-> MainWP server on Domain-B

I created a backup job for the main domain (« Back-up Domain A / every-month »)

When I ask MainWP-server (Domain-B) to start backup from  « Back-up Domain A / every-month » on Domain-B
it says :”BackWPup plugin is not installed or activated on the site”.
But it’s.

Any idea ?

On one of our accounts we get this error message:

since 3 days, BackWPup is not transferring to my FTP Server anymore. This could be a server specific problem, because on my other wordpress sites everything works fine.

On this server we use PHP 7.0 (same as on the other servers).

I was hoping to get any further information inside the log file, but it only says this:

I already tried to tick the “explicit SSL-FTP” option, but to no success.

And I already double-checked the credentials and even tried to add a completly new ftp-user with no success. I’m kind of lost, because on 5 other sites this works with the exact same settings/credentials.

Do you have any advice for me? Is there an option to output more information on the connection error?

der neu erstellte Dropbox-Auftrag via WP-Cron startet erst gar nicht,
wenn ich den Auftrag manuell starten will. Ich habe die Einstellungen schon mit einer anderen Installation verglichen, kann aber keinen Fehler finden.

I tried to enter my password under “network” but this doen´t help. I am new to wordpress and it´s probably a very simple problem, but I don´t know how to solve it. I am grateful for any help.

BackPWup Version 3.3.4. is compatible up to WordPress Version 4.7.2. At least that is what the plugin-page states.

This Plugin shows a compatibility up to 4.6.

I experienced this behaviour on all sites I maintain so far. (more then 20 Sites)

When scheduling a BackWPup job to use the EasyCron service, I’m unclear why the plugin UI shows the “Schedule execution time” area (where we schedule the backup for WordPress cron). EasyCron has its own scheduler, which I setup when adding a cronjob in my account there. What’s the point of the scheduler in BackWPup, when selecting EasyCron? How does it relate to the schedule I setup in EasyCron?

On my other sites (not multisite) all is working fine with XML-Export.

We have over 150 sites using your plugin. Overnight, about a dozen of them started generating error emails. The reasons for the errors have a couple of differences site to site, but I am getting two duplicate emails for each site/error, AND this is only happening on the sites where we are still using wp-cron (not the sites where we are using a server cron).

These are happening almost all on daily backup jobs that have been functioning for months without error.

That just seems a little weird – that these handful of sites would generate errors all about the same time, and all generate duplicated emails. I’ve searched around in these forums, but I’m not finding any similar issues. Any ideas what be going on here?

Here are some of the different error messages:

• ERROR: S3 Service API: Your proposed upload is smaller than the minimum allowed size, THEN: ERROR: S3 Service API: The specified upload does not exist. The upload ID may be invalid, or the upload may have been aborted or completed.
• (after warnings for restarts due to inactivity, but then a successful upload to S3), below the success message: ERROR: Aborted by user! (at 3am, when I’m fairly certain no user was on the site).

since the latest update all my installations on various servers are filling up the diskspace.

is there a fix/workaround that backwpup honors the maximum number of saved files?
